Be the strength for the weak

The yardstick of a life well spent is not by how many houses built, numbers of cars owned, neither is it by the number of the opposite sex slept with but by the number of lives touched. We have all come to the conclusion that slaying on the gram and spending lavishly is a good life, some even consider it the best life. Make no mistake, acquiring wealth is good but what you do with it matters a lot.

The best way to live life is by being a beacon of hope to the underprivileged, neglected, poor and handicapped people of the society and this is best achieved by being their strength. Help them in the areas where they are lacking, give with no hidden agendas or expecting a reward. Put a smile on their faces and see how fulfilled and accomplished you will feel because in reality happiness is best felt when shared with others.

Lately, we leave the task of giving and helping to religious people, help foundations, celebrities and the wealthy people of the society, but they can't do it alone. The act of giving could be done by everyone and anyone, not just the rich but by even the poor. Giving doesn't even have to be something physical, it could be your time, care, love and mental support. Your compassion and attention are enough to help someone because some people suffer from not getting it.

The greatest misconception of this age is that giving has to be something very big, people tend to forget that the little act of kindness matters a lot and it will go a long way to give others hope. The deed might not seem like a big deal to you but it might be everything and only thing someone needs. It's common lately to see people committing suicide just because they were neglected or because they lack attention.

On that note, take out time to give back to society in your own little way as nothing is small when it comes to giving. It could be your time, money, services or your skills. Go to children homes and donate what you can, it could be your money, your music and sounds, just do something to put a smile on someone face. Take out your broke friends and let him know that he or she is loved. That poor lady or guy in your street or house, give him money to elevate their spirits. Those unemployed graduates at your area needs help too, support their hustle by linking them with a job if you can and see their happiness will elevate your spirit and even bring more happiness in your life.

Help fuel that your friends hustle, support their business by buying or referring people to them, only then will the happiness go round and by so doing, you have done a good deed that will open more gateways to a greater platform for even you the giver or helper. In closing, giving is a small price to pay when considering the horrors, sorrow, pains, diseases and brutal deaths in the world as of today which we all averted. So consider this act of giving as a show of appreciation and gratitude for being alive and well and not also being in the position of the people who we are giving or helping.
